OLYLA on the GEAUX!

Orange Leaf Louisiana is on the move again with a new venture.  This time it’s called GEAUX!  The name of the new company is OLYLA GEAUX, LLC.  We have entered the red hot food trailer market with our own mobile store concept.   The GEAUX trailer is a complete store on wheels! It is 20 feet long and  it will feature 3 yogurt machines, a toppings bar and of course disco music. It will be decorated in typical Orange Leaf fashion – lots of color, lots of Orange.  It will be impossible to miss.  It will make its debut in 2 weeks where we started it all – Monroe.  We will be one of the vendors at St. Francis Bayou Jamb on August 25 at ULM’s Malone Stadium.  This means football and freaux yeaux – our favorite combination!
OMAHA Trailer knocked it out of the park "literally" at the
College Baseball World Series in July.
When looking at all of the festivals and sporting events in this state, it was an easy decision to move forward with GEAUX.  There are always corn dogs, lemonade, and something on a stick but never frozen yogurt and never from a brand as popular as Orange Leaf.  This will actually be the second Orange Leaf trailer to hit the scene.  The Orange Leaf group in Omaha, Nebraska debuted their trailer at the College Baseball World Series in June and it was a huge hit.  Apparently when temperatures hit 105, fro yo is pretty popular.

The Ragin' Cajuns will get their FIRST
GEAUX trailer experience on Sept. 1st!
We are sticking with the sports theme right out of the gate with the Bayou Jamb and then we are on to UL Ragin Cajun games as part of the new emphasis on creating the perfect atmosphere at Cajun football games.  We will also be partnering with Orange Leaf stores out of state to bring our brand of fun to markets that may not be exposed to it yet.   No event will be too big or too small.  So whether its Peaches, Frogs, Crawfish, or Catfish, next time you attend one of Louisiana’s famous festivals, be on the look out for the big Orange trailer...or you can just listen for the disco music!

Go for the GOLD (and Orange)!

Who is as excited about the OLYmpics as we are?  Get it?  "OLY"mpics? We just can't get enough of TEAM USA bringing home those GOLD medals!  From the Ladies Gymnastics team, and individual GOLD medalist, Gabby Douglas, to the diversely talented men's and women's USA swim team, with Michael Phelps and Missy Franklin each having 4 GOLD's credited to their name in these 2012 games, the USA has been well represented.  But maybe none better than in the ladies Judo contest in which, Kayla Harrison took home USA's first ever GOLD MEDAL in the event.

Overcoming a difficult past of abuse, Harrison is the picture of perseverance. For anyone who watched her medal ceremony on Thursday, it was clear what this olympic moment meant to her. She said soon afterword to Hollywood
Kayla Harrison - USA Judo Gold Medalist
Gossip, "Kind of just reflecting back on my life.  Everything it's taken to get here, and everything I've gone through.  I'm America's first gold medalist in judo and always will be." Harrison added, "Never give up on your dreams. I mean, if I can do it, anybody can do it.  Things have happened, but now, my life is a dream.  I'm living my dream right now."

We here at ORANGE LEAF LOUISIANA hope that everyone out there is living their dream!  If you aren't, stop by one of our stores for a little Freaux Yeaux magic to get you headed in the right direction!  GEAUX TEAM USA & GEAUX FREAUX YEAUX!

10 o'clock pm and the first car arrives.  The beauty queens have landed.  The scene is set for an event like no other.  The Red Carpet has been rolled out and the spotlight is turned to bright!  Waiting patiently behind the red velvet ropes are tiny, bright-eyed queens in the making hoping for their chance to glimpse their favorite crowned beauty.  Squeals are audible and clapping follows.
They made it!

2011Miss Louisiana Hope Anderson
2011 Miss Louisiana herself, Hope Anderson, leads the procession down the red carpet waving to the adoring 50 plus fans waiting patiently on their arrival.  Camera crews and photographers are perched in the perfect place to capture the perfect moment as it happens.  Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt in Monroe was the place and the Miss Louisiana Pageant contestants, along with their 14 hostesses were the honored guests at the 2nd annual Red Carpet event.  Each contestant wore a specially designed Orange Leaf/Miss Louisiana shirt made especially for this event.  And, if that wasn't enough, there was even yet another surprise.  A GLOW party.  Orange Leaf Monroe turned their party room into a BlackLight wonderland with glow-in-the-dark tape, posters, lights, and glow sticks for days!  Bandanas and Tiaras that glowed were a few of the accessories that were given out for the guest to enjoy! Glow in the Dark Face-Painting was offered to each guest as an added FUN element and Hula Hoops that created a GLOW circle were a HIT!

As the event was winding down, one by one, each contestant came up to the Orange Leaf Monroe staff and said thank you for the shirts, freaux yeaux, and said how much they enjoyed the event.

For the Love of Orange

Living Proverbs 31 BLOG

Have you ever just gotten on GOOGLE and searched things just for the fun of it?  Well, that is what we did this week for Geaux Freaux Yeaux and let us tell you, there are LOTS of bloggers out there that LOVE Orange Leaf!  Christi's blog "Living Proverbs 31" says that Orange Leaf has changed her life!
Hannah says to be mindful of the toppings
Hannah in Ohio writes in her "Collected Thoughts" blog that she loves this frozen yogurt trend, and Orange Leaf's choices of cups, and waffle bowls!
Debbie's Mizzou Crew
loves Orange Leaf

Debbie's MIZZOU Crew write's how much she loves SUMMER and ORANGE LEAF!

Self named, the cutest blog on the block, "The Polka Dotted Passageway" was very informed on the Orange Leaf steps (Grab a Cup, Fill it Up, Toppings, Weigh and Pay!) and as a sidenote, also like MONKEYS!  http://polkadottedpassageway.blogspot.com/

So, when you find yourself surfing the internet, type in Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt and see what comes up.  You will find that you aren't the only one  around that has the LOVE OF ORANGE!

The Itty Bitty Orange Committee

Erin and Andrew Parker
Orange is a wonderful color and everyone loves a brand new baby, but an ORANGE Baby? An Orange Baby you say?  That's not normal! Too many carrots must be the cause or maybe even sweet potatoes, but not this time!  This time we are talking about ORANGE LEAF BABIES!  Monroe might have been the location chosen for the very first Orange Leaf in Louisiana, but the very first Orange Leaf Louisiana baby comes from the West Monroe store.  Mister Andrew Parker!  Congrats to Erin!

William Garrett in his NOT SO Itty Bitty Leaf Shirt
Exactly one week later, Monroe got their ORANGE baby when Mister William Garrett made his appearance.  He is MY little man!  And still I must keep going as there are 2 coming spoons!

Our third tiny Leafer will arrive to mommy Bree at the West Monroe store, and our fourth will come in November to Kayla, our New Iberia Manager!

At this rate, there will be an Orange Leaf Baby for every Louisiana store before you know it!

And with that, we formally introduce our VERY brand new Itty Bitty Orange Committee!  And just think, having been raised on FREAUX YEAUX from the start, they will be experts for sure.  We simply must be patient until they learn to talk to discover what their favorite flavors are!

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Merry Christmas.  Happy Holidays. Season's Greetings. Jesus is the Reason for the Season.  Whether it's one of these sentiments or another, everyone has to admit, this time of year puts a little spring in your step and song in your heart.  The hustle and the bustle of the crowds in your local mall and the traffic that invariably comes with this time of year, is somehow offset by the joyous childlike feelings of seeing your own children open their gifts that Santa has brought them, volunteering at your local food pantry, or simply listening to the Christmas Songs of the season.

Stuff-A-Bus Drop-off

The act of giving is a special one.  You have always heard to give is to receive, but what does that really mean?  Well, to us at Orange Leaf Louisiana, it means much more than those five little words.

Participating in the Radio People 101.9 Stuff A Bus Toy drive in Monroe and West Monroe brought toys to children that might not have gotten one otherwise.  Serving as drop-off locations for the bus, Orange Leaf was more than proud to participate in this worthy cause.  And yes, if you were wondering, the BUS GOT STUFFED!

In Natchitoches, Orange Leaf Louisiana sponsored  RADIO M*A*S*H, which means Make A Smile Happen! Broadcasting from the Walmart parking lot for 72 hours straight, Elite Broadcasting received basket after basket of donated toys!  It was an honor to be a part of this worthy cause.

In Mandeville, Orange Leaf was a drop-off point for the St. Tammany Macaroni Toys For Tots drive.  In combination with our Grand Opening Celebration, Orange Leaf was a natural spot for drop-off of toys for those less fortunate.

So, back to the question.  What does to give is to receive mean to us?  Paying it Forward, What goes around comes around.....and there are so many more ways to explain, but the prayer of St. Francis captures it best;

Grant that I may not so much seek
To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we truly receive.

Sharing our love with you this Holiday Season
Merry Christmas from ALL of us here at Orange Leaf Louisiana!

West Monroe Winner

Erin, Ashlee and Zoe opening WEST MONROE 11/22/11
Our FIRST Customer, Sarah, and her Grandfather!
Orange Leaf Louisiana "#6" is officially in the books, and we couldn't have ended our 2011 Orange Leaf Louisiana "opening" year with a more perfect store than West Monroe!  Opening on a rainy, Tuesday, November 25th, customers couldn't WAIT until we turned on that OPEN sign!  In fact, we opened at 10:20 (40 minutes early) just to let people get a head start on their Freaux Yeaux fun!  Sarah and her grandfather were our first paying customers of the day, and she got to sign her dollar that will permanently hang on our wall.  Five Guys opened next door the day before, and we finally had to put a sign on our door stating WE OPEN TOMORROW!  They just couldn't wait, and with good reason.  Looking through our glass windows at our colorful walls and fun atmosphere, it's like teasing the Freaux Yeaux lover to open the door and just make sure that we WEREN'T open yet....so, that is why our doors opened a little before our official 11am time.  Even with the rain, the Freaux Yeaux flowed and customers that had been waiting for months, were finally happy that they didn't have to drive across the bridge to Monroe to get their fix. Here is OLYLA's recipe for ORANGE LOVE: Stir vigorously, the perfect Orange Leaf location while adding Yummy, Healthy Freaux Yeaux.  Fold in slowly our FANTASTIC CUSTOMERS and that is ALL SHE WROTE, as they say! ORANGE LOVE is the perfect mix of the perfect ingredients!

Thanks for your well wishes from all of us, here at Orange Leaf Louisiana!  Can't wait for the official GRAND OPENING PARTY!  It's going to be a doozy!
