Froyo Forum 2012

Oklahoma City was the setting of the first ever Orange Leaf FROYO FORUM.  Over 200 people attended the two day conference hosted by Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt, Insight Creative Group, and Ground Floor Media.  Meeting fellow franchisees from the East Coast to the West Coast was a treat for Co-Owners of OLYLA, LLC, Tom and Shannon Hagan.  "I just couldn't get enough!" exclaimed Shannon, "Talking and sharing stories with other franchisees proved to be invaluable in our learning curve." Shannon shares.

Along with the breakout sessions hosted by ICG and GFM, Orange Leaf Corporate kept it interesting at dinner serving two new flavors as dessert!  All we can tell you right now is that they will be worth the wait!" shares Tom.

OLYLA won two of the most valued awards at the Forum.  3rd place went to the Monroe Store for overall sales in the fleet for 2011.  For Outstanding Marketing efforts, OLYLA won second place.

Another OLYLA accomplishment, went to Tom Hagan as he was chosen to represent the Gulf Coast (Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana) in the first ever Advisory board. Go TOM!
The Long and Short of it was, OLYLA was doing something right.  But more importantly, they are having fun while doing it!
New friends were made, and new ideas were flowing.  The perfect combination for success! Geaux Freaux Yeaux!

The Itty Bitty Orange Committee

Erin and Andrew Parker
Orange is a wonderful color and everyone loves a brand new baby, but an ORANGE Baby? An Orange Baby you say?  That's not normal! Too many carrots must be the cause or maybe even sweet potatoes, but not this time!  This time we are talking about ORANGE LEAF BABIES!  Monroe might have been the location chosen for the very first Orange Leaf in Louisiana, but the very first Orange Leaf Louisiana baby comes from the West Monroe store.  Mister Andrew Parker!  Congrats to Erin!

William Garrett in his NOT SO Itty Bitty Leaf Shirt
Exactly one week later, Monroe got their ORANGE baby when Mister William Garrett made his appearance.  He is MY little man!  And still I must keep going as there are 2 coming spoons!

Our third tiny Leafer will arrive to mommy Bree at the West Monroe store, and our fourth will come in November to Kayla, our New Iberia Manager!

At this rate, there will be an Orange Leaf Baby for every Louisiana store before you know it!

And with that, we formally introduce our VERY brand new Itty Bitty Orange Committee!  And just think, having been raised on FREAUX YEAUX from the start, they will be experts for sure.  We simply must be patient until they learn to talk to discover what their favorite flavors are!

Don't use that tone with me! :)

MOMISMS.  What do I look like, your maid?, Don't make me stop this car!, and my personal favorite, Why?  Because I said so!.  In your lifetime, you probably heard one of these from your Mom.  When you were little, Mom's seemed to all have their own language and have some sort of MOMMY handbook that they consulted with. When going to your friends house, you could swear that you were hearing your mother say, "You didn't learn that in THIS house!" just to turn your head to realize it was your friends mom scolding them.  How could they ALL be so similar?  There is a very easy answer to this, but you must wait until you are a mother yourself to understand it completely. To know what it's like to love unconditionally and have your heart outside your body is an experience almost unexplainable.
Lacy Christophe and Family
"Being a mother is by far the best thing in the world, but it is also the hardest.  My kids complete me.  I'm bored and lonely when they are gone. They are my biggest accomplishment so far!" explains Natchitoches manager, Lacy Christophe.

With this unexplainable love, out pops the MOMISMS that will stay with you forever. "Never let the things that you want make you forget the things that you have.", "The ones who think they are crazy enough to change the world, are the ones that do.", or "Integrity is doing the right thing when no one is watching."
So, today, on Mother's Day, tell your mom what quote you remember most that touched your life, a KIDISM if you will. (KIDISM: A Momism when repeated in a funny way by their child.) And we here at ORANGE LEAF LA would like to help you show her how much she means to you!  TODAY, Mother's Day, bring her into ANY of our Louisiana locations and your MOM will receive 50% off her cup of Freaux Yeaux!  Than you, moms of the world, for singing You are my Sunshine and Rock-a-Bye, for reading, I love you this much and Goodnight Moon, and most importantly loving us the MOST at times that we weren't very lovable.
Happy Mother's Day from ORANGE LEAF LA!

I'll have another - KENTUCKY STYLE!

No one quite believed when I’ll Have Another nipped Creative Cause in the Santa Anita Derby. They’ll believe in him now.  Saturday before a record crowd of 165,307 at Churchill Downs in Lexington, KY, I’ll Have Another ran down the highly touted Bodemeister to win the 138th Kentucky Derby by 1 1/2 lengths. The University of Kentucky championship basketball Coach John Calipari (Coach Cal) had the honor of saying, "RIDERS UP!" Coach Cal's UK team captured the school's eighth NCAA national basketball championship on April 2 with a 67-59 victory over Kansas in April. Now, what does this all have to do with ORANGE LEAF you might ask?  Well, in Kentucky (just like Louisiana), Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt is a highly valued commodity!  Not only that, but Coach Cal LOVES him some ORANGE LEAF!  Coach Cal made a quick stop by the Louisville store following the Barnstable Brown party Friday night.  Even though it was 10:30 at night, when Calipari tweeted to his 1.15 million followers that he was heading to the Bardstown Road Orange Leaf, the BIG BLUE NATION packed the house!  So, today, we here at Orange Leaf Louisiana salute our Orange Leaf KENTUCKY compadres!  Thank you sir, I'll have another!
